Dick’s list of environmental activities and achievements is both long and substantial. In 1991, he founded Lake Watch of Lake Martin (LWLM). Serving as President of LWLM for more than 20 years, Dick worked tirelessly for the preservation and enhancement of waters throughout the Tallapoosa River Basin and across Alabama. Under his leadership, the organization compiled an extensive and impactful record of accomplishments.
Virginia
Pietrzykowski was a longtime Lake
Martin resident at what was affectionately known as “The Shack” on the
lake. She and her husband Stan spent many happy years there renovating
their property, making friends and hosting family gatherings. Virginia
was a devoted Lake Watch of Lake Martin member and is remembered as the
“go to” person in Lake Watch.
